Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY is still thrilling audiences in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
More than just being one of the top-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also created and performed the songs of a generation — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences throughout the world through tribute artist Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Siri “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show Las Vegas VIP experience of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
